Marius Mehren takes over ownership of Sandella Fabrikken AS
Sandella was established in Straumgjerde, Norway, in 1961 as an offshoot of Sande Fabrikker in Vestfold.
Everything was started by Marius' grandfather, Martin Mehren, right after the Second World War.
The main focus was production of foam rubber for the furniture industry in Sykkylven. In 1968 the procduction was moved to Vik, where Sandella is still based today.
Marius Mehren will be the third generation to take over the baton, and sees a bright future for the Sandella group.
"The factory in Sykkylven is the jewel of our group. This is where our expertise and the best people are", says Marius Mehren in a statement to the newspaper Nyss. Marius lives in Eastern Norway, but will spend a lot of time locally in Sykkylven in the future. And as Marius says, "living far away is probably easier now, than it was for my father and grandfather. Now you can live anywhere in the world, as long as you have internet".
